Image Credit: www.hippasus.com/rrpweblog/ The SAMR MODEL The SAMR model provides a framework to evaluate how technology is being used for teaching and student learning and helps educators reflect on how they integrate technology in their classrooms. The ultimate goal is for educators to redefine how they teach and how students learn, as well as enabling students to accomplish tasks that they couldn’t do before using the new technology. A useful way of engaging with the SAMR model is to ask; “how are we currently using technology?” and "where do we want to go with it?". To fully engage in this process, educators need to know enough about the technology to show students its full potential. As technology is rapidly evolving, teachers are compelled to undertake continual professional development, in order to give students an education that fully integrates technology into the classroom.
